Wedding peaches / Lakodalmas barack

The lakodalmas barack (“wedding peach”) is a traditional Hungarian festive sweet, often served at weddings and special occasions. It’s a charming little cookie shaped and decorated to look like a real peach. Two soft, buttery halves are baked, then hollowed slightly and filled with jam, walnut, cocoa powder. After joining the halves, they’re brushed with syrup, rolled in colored sugar to achieve a peach-like blush. Beyond its beauty, it’s cherished for its delicate flavor, tender texture, and the sense of celebration it brings.
